How to get rid of ants in the home

Pests specially ants sometimes became an integral part of a home and it’s very difficult to get rid of ants. There are some proven methods that can help you to win the battle. Here are some steps:
Control from the origin: The ant queen produce a lots of ants. If you kill it, consider that you have won the first half of the battle! The ant queen hides in the bottom of the ants’ nest.
Keep your home clean: If you keep your home clean, at least from food items, the ants will find nothing to eat and look elsewhere for foods. Just be careful about the following things,
- Put all kinds of food in air-tight containers.
- Keep the sink clean from dirty dishes, standing water and foods.
- Put pet food in a slightly larger bowl and add some water around the pet food that the ants can’t cross.
Built a barricade around your home: There are practically unlimited doors for the ants to enter your home. To prevent their entrance, make a barricade around your home. You can do-
(I) Seal doors, windows and any cracks.
(II) Use Diatomaceous earth powder that kills the ants.
(III) Spread salt near windows, under doors and walls.
(IV) Use Cornmeal. Cornmeal is not poisonous to people or animals. But after eating cornmeal swells inside ants’ digestive organs, causing them to die.
Use Talc: Talc in various forms is a good weapon against ants. Along with many other forms it is found in baby powders and Tailor’s chalk. It work as a good barrier to ants.
Destroy their nest: Locate a ants’ nest and pour some boiled water. You can even use some kinds of poisons. Boric acid powder with maple syrup is a very commonly used poison against ants. Composition varies but you can use,
*1 cup water with 2 cups sugar, 2 tablespoons boric powder
*3 cups of water, 1 cup of sugar and 4 teaspoons of boric powder.
Use a homemade solution: You need is dish soap, rubbing alcohol and water. Collect a spray bottle and wash it well. Place a teaspoon of rubbing alcohol, and 1.5 teaspoon of dish soap inside it. Then fill the bottle with pure water, leave some space. Now shake the solution until bubbles appears. Now you are ready to spray! Ants will stay far from it because of alcohol.
