But since were only human most people can’t keep a perfectly run, squeaky-clean house.  So what do you do when you have the problem? First start cleaning up, second find out where they are coming and look to see if you’ve left food or crumbs in any small place. When you find the crack or whole they are coming in seal it up with caulking glue. Then along the trail of ants that you see coming in and out of where ever that is, sprinkle cayenne pepper along the trail where their walking, at the opening of where they come from, just everywhere! Another more effective way to rid your house of ants is to kill the scout.

Ants have scouts who look around for places where they are food then lead more and more ants to your house. If you kill it they never get a chance to ” report back. ” If the scout has already brought back more ants, kill all of them at once and then spray the trail they were leaving with either bleach, all purpose cleaner, then wipe it up with a paper towel. Also leaving salt on windowsills or where ever their coming from will knock them out as well. They won’t like the smell or the taste and will leave. There is also this powder called diatomaceous earth, although the only problem with it is it is a little more dangerous to use. You don’t want anyone (even pets) sniffing it up. They also don’t like the powder and will flee.
