Ant Pest Control

Everyone at one point has had a problem with little, uninvited, creepy, crawly ANTS! They seem to come out of nowhere, in your sink, on your windows, in your cupboards; on your counters it’s a never-ending stream of little creatures on the hunt for food.  The common house any is the Argentine Ant. They come in your house in the summer, invading your house for food, and in the winter to survive the cold. They are the most difficult ants to control. Argentine ants originally came from South Africa, and were carried into the United States through coffee shipments in New Orleans. They have now spread into southeastern states and now more commonly California and Hawaii. The Argentine Ant is black and about 3 millimeters in size, meaning they can squeeze through any space about 1 millimeter wide. Ants are always more of a pest in the summer because in the winter, they keep in, building up their colonies, meaning thousands and thousands of ants ready to invade your home when warm weather comes. By spring and fall they will have grown in numbers and be ready then ever to take out your house. The only way to stop these annoying creatures from wanting to be in your house is to stop giving them what they want, FOOD!

A sure way to make sure ants don’t like your house inside and out is for a pest control business to come, around 4 times a year. It does depend on how bad you have the problem, and how big your house is. Some homeowners have a pest control service spray once a month. That obviously means that homeowner doesn’t want to see a single ant inside or out his/her house. Although this isn’t a bad idea, their are many things you can do, before spending money on a service. So lets say you can’t afford having a service come around and spray, what do you do? One way is to use a bait. One bait that can be used in your house is Terror Bait. Other effective baits are, Combat-Ant Killing Gel, Quick Kill Formula Bait Stations, and Raid Ant Bait II. What baits do that other remedies don’t, is when the scouts take back what they find to the colony and queen, they eat it, destroying the whole colony, ending your problem!
